If your Reolink camera fails to upgrade firmware via Reolink Client, you can find solutions according to the corresponding situation.

Applies to: All Reolink cameras except for battery-powered cameras.

Error 1: Reolink Firmware Upgrade Stuck

Description:

  1. Reolink firmware upgrade failed with an “Upgrade Failed” error message.
  2. The progress bar during the upgrade process does not move.

Troubleshooting:

  1. Perform the firmware upgrade over LAN. Ensure that the PC with Reolink Client installed is on the same network as your camera or NVR.
  2. Upgrade the Reolink NVR or camera(except Reolink E1, Reolink E1 Pro, Reolink Lumus and add-on cameras) via a web browser.

  3. For the Reolink NVR and cameras connected to Reolink NVR, upgrade the camera via a TV monitor.

  4. Please first upgrade the firmware to transitional firmware (newer than the device's current firmware but older than the latest one available on the download center), and then upgrade it to the latest one. If you do not have such transitional firmware, contact Reolink Support Team for help.
  5. If you still fail to upgrade the NVR, please contact Support with the model number, firmware version, and hardware version of your NVR.

Error 2: Reolink Failed to Recognize the File Format

Description:

When attempting to upgrade the camera/NVR, you encounter a "Failed to recognize the file format" error, indicating that the firmware does not match your camera/NVR.

Troubleshooting:

  1. Identify the model and hardware version of your device. Then go to Firmware Center and find the correct firmware.
    If unsure, please share the system info page with the Support Team. Refer to How to Find out System Information (Firmware Version) via Reolink Software.

  2. Verify if the firmware you are using is a copy. For example:

  3. If you still fail to upgrade the NVR, contact Support and provide the model number, firmware version, and hardware version of your NVR.
